The increasing incidence of tobacco industry interference at the international platform requires a more systematic, structured, and preventive approach. Protecting public health and protecting governments from the corrupting influences of the tobacco industry need to go hand-in-hand.
GGTC is a partnership program of the School of Global Studies, Thammasat University, Thailand, and the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) to promote and enhance good governance in tobacco control through a whole of government approach. Our objectives are:
- To provide technical support to countries to enhance whole of government approach in tobacco control
- To develop shared values in tobacco control across sectors both national, regional and international
- To support the development of policy/measures and code of conduct for various sectors when interacting with the tobacco industry in accordance with FCTC Article 5.3
